Opening April 1 and closing July 31, The Bakken Museum will host a community art exhibit featuring local Twin City artists. The theme: “Connection” will explore ideas and variations of relationship, attachment, link, and circuit by the artists. I am excited to be a part of this exhibit and look forward to seeing all the work that was chosen.

I am excited to exhibit with such amazing local artists in Golden Valley. This all inclusive event will have the Golden Valley Orchestra, Virtual Reality painting exhibit, a screening of Master Servants, a short film. The artist showcase at the Brookview will take place January 31, 5 to 9pm.

I am thrilled to announce that I will be showing a piece at Red Wing Arts main building. This piece was made specifically for the festival and can be seen this weekend only, gallery hours 12pm to 5pm.

"Since its inception in 1952, Red Wing Arts (RWA) has been a cornerstone of the arts in the Red Wing community and throughout the region. Each year Red Wing Arts supports over 350 artists in our gallery and festivals and over 30,000 visitors to our free events and exhibits."

This exhibit holds a special place in my heart, The Show Gallery in conjunction with MSS teams up artists in groups of two who donate their time creating art piece collaborations, all art will be auctioned with 100% of the profits to benefit MSS, a nonprofit organization supporting individuals with disabilities reach their individual goals of independence. Actor Bill Murray also donates his time as judge, looking over all the work and choosing a winning couple! This event is the most popular of the gallery each year and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

Honky Tonk Jump performs at The Saint Paul Art Crawl Festival. A BIG THANK YOU to my husband and his bandmates who performed a fantastic set of hillbilly jazz during the weekend.

Spring is here and it is time for the Spring Saint Paul Art Crawl Festival. I will be showing work at the Schmidt Artist Lofts on the first floor all weekend, April 27, 28, and 29. April 28, Saturday, at noon a special performance by Honky Tonk Jump!

As the sun sets in my studio in the Carton Services Building studio tonight, I prepare to say goodbye to Portland. I have loved teaching my young art students and working on a new body of work that will move along with me to Minnesota. Thank you, sweet studio.

Students learned about the work of Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. They learned about the printmaking process by carving an image into a styrofoam "printing plate". They rolled paint onto the plate to make several different colored images and made prints onto paper. Space available for Childrens' Art Classes every Saturday at 10am. Classes located:

After practicing with a shaded tube art puzzle, students made their own structures with blocks and used the shadows to create a 3D drawing. A very impressive effort for this class of 7 year olds! Space available for Childrens' Art Classes every Saturday at 10am. Classes located:

My Students at IPE Art Academy worked together to paint several large petals for our larger than life lotus sculptures. We used textured wallpaper and the students painted one side, wire was sandwiched between two pedals to help the pedals bend. Cardboard was used for the inside set in air dry clay. These were great fun to make and the students loved the process. These pieces will be displayed at the

Kakuozan Nittai-ji is a Buddhist temple located in the city of Nagoya, Chikusa Ward. It was built in 1904 in order to keep the ashes of Buddha, given to Japan by the Kingdom of Thailand.

I have been hard at work creating artwork for my solo show at The Plastic Factory. An opening with DJ Toru and my art is set to take place Sunday, August 25, 7 PM until Midnight.

I have been working with my young students at IPE Art Academy to make pieces on the theme, ひまわり Himawari (Sunflower) for the Aichi Triennale Arts festival. They were having so much fun, I decided to make a piece too. Each piece is mixed media, the children were encouraged to play in all art mediums and I was excited to see how different they all turned out.

"The Aichi Triennale is an urban international art festival, held every three years since 2010 across a wide region including the Aichi Arts Center and other city venues. The festival will span a wide range of fields, synthetically exhibiting performing art and other forms together with a contemporary art core, and make Aichi Prefecture a beacon of the artistic avant-garde. The goals of the festival are to contribute to the global development of culture and art by creating and disseminating cutting-edge art. Also, bringing culture and art into people’s daily lives by promoting and providing education on contemporary art. And lastly, enhancing the attractiveness of the region by vitalizing culture and art activities."

I am thrilled to be have my visa officially approved for Japan. My early experiences in this amazing country have been profound. Inspiration is everywhere and I am excited to see what this next chapter holds!

I am officially moving on from New York tomorrow! It feels bittersweet. This has been a soul stretching, beautiful experience. I am so grateful for the many adventures and great people I have met.

I am excited to announce that I will be part of the Fall BWAC, Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, show in Red Hook. There will be a fantastic group of artists exhibiting with the sounds and views of the New York Harbor. The BWAC exhibition space is located in a pre-Civil War warehouse overlooking the Statue of Liberty. The venue alone is worth the trip! This show runs every weekend September 25 to October 31. The gallery is open 1 to 6pm every Saturday and Sunday.

I will be part of the annual Art + All That Jazz show at the Whatcom Museum. Several regional artists will be featured including, Barbara Sternberger, Carin Friedlander, Susan Bennerstrom, & Ed Bereal to name a few. I am thrilled to be showing with many of my college professors in this show.

I am excited to share that I will be part of the Tacoma, Washington, Third Thursday Artwalk November 20, 7 to 11pm. There will be lots of amazing art and several galleries open in walking distance.

Hand to Mouth Gallery hosts several local Bellingham artists for their February show, Red and Pink. I will have a piece in the show celebrating the colors of flesh, blood, and love. The opening reception is Friday, February 13 at 8 pm.
