    Opening April 1 and closing July 31, The Bakken Museum will host a community art exhibit featuring local Twin City artists. The theme: “Connection” will explore ideas and variations of relationship, attachment, link, and circuit by the artists. I am excited to be a part of this exhibit and look forward to seeing all the work that was chosen.

  • This exhibit holds a special place in my heart, The Show Gallery in conjunction with MSS teams up artists in groups of two who donate their time creating art piece collaborations, all art will be auctioned with 100% of the profits to benefit MSS, a nonprofit organization supporting individuals with disabilities reach their individual goals of independence. Actor Bill Murray also donates his time as judge, looking over all the work and choosing a winning couple! This event is the most popular of the gallery each year and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

    Opening reception is September 7, at The Show Gallery, 5 to 8pm

    Students learned about the work of Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. They learned about the printmaking process by carving an image into a styrofoam "printing plate". They rolled paint onto the plate to make several different colored images and made prints onto paper. Space available for Childrens' Art Classes every Saturday at 10am. Classes located:

  • My Students at IPE Art Academy worked together to paint several large petals for our larger than life lotus sculptures. We used textured wallpaper and the students painted one side, wire was sandwiched between two pedals to help the pedals bend. Cardboard was used for the inside set in air dry clay. These were great fun to make and the students loved the process. These pieces will be displayed at the

    Kakuozan Nittai-ji is a Buddhist temple located in the city of Nagoya, Chikusa Ward. It was built in 1904 in order to keep the ashes of Buddha, given to Japan by the Kingdom of Thailand.

    I have been working with my young students at IPE Art Academy to make pieces on the theme, ひまわり Himawari (Sunflower) for the Aichi Triennale Arts festival. They were having so much fun, I decided to make a piece too. Each piece is mixed media, the children were encouraged to play in all art mediums and I was excited to see how different they all turned out.

    "The Aichi Triennale is an urban international art festival, held every three years since 2010 across a wide region including the Aichi Arts Center and other city venues. The festival will span a wide range of fields, synthetically exhibiting performing art and other forms together with a contemporary art core, and make Aichi Prefecture a beacon of the artistic avant-garde. The goals of the festival are to contribute to the global development of culture and art by creating and disseminating cutting-edge art. Also, bringing culture and art into people’s daily lives by promoting and providing education on contemporary art. And lastly, enhancing the attractiveness of the region by vitalizing culture and art activities."

  • I am excited to announce that I will be part of the Fall BWAC, Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, show in Red Hook. There will be a fantastic group of artists exhibiting with the sounds and views of the New York Harbor. The BWAC exhibition space is located in a pre-Civil War warehouse overlooking the Statue of Liberty. The venue alone is worth the trip! This show runs every weekend September 25 to October 31. The gallery is open 1 to 6pm every Saturday and Sunday.
